Organized jointly by Ko\u00e7 University Maritime Forum (K\u00dcDENFOR) and Classic Boats Platform (KTP), the Classic Boats Meeting was held for the 3rd time this year. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ko\u00e7 University Maritime Forum (K\u00dcDENFOR) organized its annual \u201cClassic Boats Meeting\u201d event this year, hosted by K\u00dcDENFOR Director Admiral Cem G\u00fcrdeniz. K\u00dcDENFOR and the Classic Boats Platform, whose maritime safety is ensured by the Maritime Search and Rescue Association (DAKSAR), organized a mass sailing activity at sea to commemorate the 482nd anniversary of the Victory of Preveza and the Naval Forces Day. The event, which brought together classic sailing boats and sailors, was attended by 22 classic boats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

K\u00dcDENFOR and Classic Boats\nThe Platform will commemorate the 482nd anniversary of the Naval Victory of Preveza on Sunday, September 27, 2020.\nand to draw attention to the historical meaning of Navy Day.\ncarried out a collective cruising activity. For the history of Istanbul maritime culture\n22 classic boats participated in this important event. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within the scope of the event, Ko\u00e7\nThe convoy formed around the University lifeboat and named Mavi Vatan\nFenerbah\u00e7e\/Istanbul Sailing Club dock underway with sailing rig\nand sailed in close formation until Bostanci off Bostanci.\ncarried out by the Turkish Navy. The TCG K\u0131l\u0131\u00e7 Fast Patrol Boat also joined the Blue Homeland convoy\nprovided support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delivering the opening speech of the meeting, retired Rear Admiral Cem G\u00fcrdeniz, Director of K\u00dcDENFOR, said that the Classic Boats Platform had registered 70 classic boats across Turkey and that the first of these boats was Atat\u00fcrk's yacht Savarona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Making statements to the press members, G\u00fcrdeniz said the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTurkey will catch up with the maritime civilization in the 21st century. It has all the potential to move to that front. This picture gives us tremendous hope. At a time when Turkey is trying to protect the geopolitical interests of future generations in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Aegean at a time when the awakening of the Blue Homeland is so intense, it is important that Turkish maritime is on the rise again, that this message is given to the world in this way on the 482nd anniversary of the Victory at Preveza and on this beautiful day of the naval forces. Turkey will definitely become a maritime nation in the 21st century, there is no turning back. As Ko\u00e7 University Maritime Forum, we established a platform for classic boats three years ago. In Turkey, there are nearly 70 boats between 50-100 years old that need to be passed on to future generations. We register and track these boats. We take measures to pass them on to future generations.\u2019 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
