Royal Huisman, with the 81-meter/264-foot Noir At 93 meters/305 feet, he is preparing to build the world's longest sailboat.
Dutch private superyacht builder Royal Huisman is building the 81-meter/264-foot sailing yacht Noir under a new contract for Project 411.
Designed by Malcolm McKeon for the sailing pleasure of sea lovers, Noir is a candidate to become the world's longest sailboat, rising to 93 meters / 305 feet.
Speed, power and responsive handling
The yacht's profile will feature McKeon's contemporary style, an inverted bow for maximum waterline length and a flying bridge for a generous outdoor living space while underway. Large areas of glass and folding platforms will keep guests connected to the sea. Speed, power and responsive handling are part of the brief developed by Noir's experienced owner.
The yacht has been specially sized to carry a 14-meter/45-foot tender to enable coastal exploration and to transport guests and provisions without bringing the yacht close to a port. The yacht features all-aluminum construction with auxiliary power provided by electric drives. Rondal will supply the mast, boom and integrated sail system. In keeping with her codename Noir, all deck fittings and windows will be black.
The aerial draft exceeds the longest rig by about 4 meters/14 feet.
