One of Turkey's most established centers in the sailing world, the Turkish Offshore Racing Club (TAYK), who has been successfully serving as commodore since 2016. Vedat Tezman’s flag Nazmi Ahmet Eker’Eker is opening the doors to a new visionary era. On March 11, Eker, who assumed the position as a result of the board meeting held on March 11, is preparing to carry the deep culture that the club has contributed to sailing into the future with the dynamism required by modern racing organizations.
He has been active in the administrative structure of the club as Viskomodor for many years. Nazmi Ahmet Eker, Eker defines this transition as not just a change of duties, but a strategic step that will strengthen the club's international ambitions. Eker says that the club's past successes are the biggest source of motivation for the new era and summarizes his thoughts as follows:
“The deep-rooted history of the Turkish Offshore Racing Club and its contributions to sailing is a great responsibility for me. We aim to build on the successes achieved so far and carry TAYK's strong position in national and international organizations much further. Together with our board of directors, we will continue to work with determination to support the development of offshore sailing in our country, to bring this passion to new athletes and to spread the racing culture to a wider audience.”
