The 34th annual sailing race held this year in Bodrum district of Muğla turned into a visual feast.
The American Hospital The Bodrum Cup races, held in Bodrum and considered the largest sailing race in the Mediterranean, began yesterday with the Bodrum – Çökertme stage. Today, the races continued with the Çökertme – Kisebükü stage, where wooden yachts set sail, creating colorful scenes. The competitors continued their fierce battle, experiencing difficult moments at times, but the wind pleased the racers. Sailing yachts arriving at the starting line in Çökertme Bay early in the morning began to move quickly, aided by the wind. Approximately 1,500 athletes participating in the highly competitive sailing race brought the blue seas to life with 75 sailing yachts.
After completing the Kisebükü stage, the races will conclude tomorrow with the Kisebükü – Gümüşlük race, followed by the Gümüşlük – Bodrum stage and the Bodrum – Bodrum stage. After the award ceremony, the competitors will enjoy the Atena concert to the fullest. All proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Bodrum Health Foundation.
