The Tuncay Özses era at the DTB Maritime Tourism Association

Tuncay Özses became the president at the 15th Ordinary General Assembly of DTB Marine Tourism Association.

The 15th Ordinary General Assembly of DTB Marine Tourism Association was held at Oasis Marina Yeni Foça on April 26, 2024.

 Tuncay Özses became the Chairman of the Board of Directors of DTB Marine Tourism Association in the election held at the ordinary general assembly. 

New management and supervisory board

The new management and supervisory board determined at the Ordinary General Assembly consists of the following names:

Turkey aims to contribute to the development of marine tourism

The Marine Tourism Association aims to ensure mutual solidarity among the organizations and their members who invest and operate in the field of marine tourism, to conduct research on professional, social and technical issues related to the sector, to provide guidance on these issues, to establish sectoral discipline and to contribute to the development of marine tourism in Turkey. The association also plans to increase international competitiveness, to carry out joint activities for the promotion of our country and maritime tourism, to assist in defending the rights and interests of its members against private and legal persons, to apply for legal remedies, to cooperate with relevant public institutions and organizations to develop the infrastructure and to carry out other joint services within this framework.

Areas of activity of the Association

The fields of activity of the Marine Tourism Association are as follows:

1-) Contributing to the formation of marine tourism policies and ensuring compliance with these policies,

2-) Carrying out activities to improve and simplify the public structure and bureaucratic functioning in order to facilitate the development of marine tourism investments and the bureaucratic procedures of the management process,

3-) Suggesting that the new investment locations needed to ensure sustainable development in marine tourism facility management be included in the public investment program,

4-) Ensuring the development of the profession in accordance with the general interests and facilitating professional activities,

5-) Ensuring the protection of professional discipline and ethics among members of the profession and in their relations with other institutions and organizations,

6-) Ensuring the continuity and development of professional service understanding in marina and cruise port operations, maintenance and repair services offered in yacht docks and yacht management, day tour and water sports businesses,

7-) Ensuring that yacht harbors, which pay utmost attention to protecting the environment with the technology of our age and meet acceptable standards in terms of environmental pollution, have clean seas and keep their seas clean,

😎 Ensuring that the public is properly informed about marine tourism facility investments and that such investments are protected and integrated with the region, town or city for this purpose,

9-) To ensure the development of marine tourism investment and management in Turkey in accordance with the world standards and conditions of our country, to identify its needs, to defend, solve and promote them, to carry out activities before public institutions, organizations, establishments and relevant professional organizations,

10-) To cooperate with the relevant Ministries and other public institutions and organizations and the central and provincial organizations of the tourism sector chambers and organizations for the development of marine tourism investments and management in our country,

11-) In marine tourism investment and operation, due care shall be taken for the protection of the natural environment and solidarity and cooperation shall be maintained with the relevant Ministries in this regard,

12-) To carry out all kinds of legal activities in order to promote our country and maritime tourism to the countries of the world, to become a member of international organizations working in this field, provided that the necessary permissions are obtained, and to organize all kinds of conferences, fairs, seminars, publications, etc. related to this subject,

13-) In order to increase the international competitiveness of our sector, to ensure the creation of units in marine tourism investments and operations in accordance with world standards and to cooperate and cooperate with the relevant public institutions and organizations in this regard,

14-) To enforce compliance with standards in the services provided by marine tourism enterprises,

15-) To ensure solidarity between its members and the maritime tourism sector, to announce and warn yacht owners who do not comply with the rules to the members of the association,

16-) To compile and publish statistics on the sector,

17-) To organize seminars and meetings necessary for the training of personnel at all levels working in the maritime tourism sector on professional issues, to ensure the opening of courses, to reward successful personnel, to prevent unfair and purposeless personnel transfer,

18-) To ensure the establishment of standards in accordance with national and international rules in the fee system and practices in order to prevent all kinds of unfair competition in the maritime tourism sector,

19-) To act as an arbitrator in the disputes between the investments and enterprises to which the members belong,

20-) To purchase, lease, build, sell or operate movable and immovable properties for the needs of the Association,

21- To protect the members of the association against the requests and interests of the captains and owners of the yachts moored in the marinas that are not in accordance with the laws and marina rules,

22-) To assist in the development of yacht management and all the elements that make up the maritime tourism sector in our country,

23-) To assist in the development of social and physical infrastructure by cooperating with the relevant public institutions and organizations in the regions where marine tourism has the potential for development,

24-) To engage in international activities, to become a member of associations or organizations abroad and to cooperate or cooperate with these organizations.
