The countdown has begun for the ‘Presidential International Yacht Races’ to be organized by Istanbul Offshore Yacht Racing Club under the auspices of the Presidency.
Between 29 October and 1 November 2020, sailing yachts from all over the world will compete for the championship in the Bosphorus and Marmara Sea for four days. The organization is also of great importance for the promotion of Turkey.
Preparations for the ‘Presidential International Yacht Races’, the first of which will be organized by the Istanbul Offshore Yacht Racing Club under the auspices of the Presidency, are in full swing.
The organization, which will take place between 29 October - 1 November, will include 5 races in 3 stages, the first of which will be held in the Bosphorus.
The yachts will start the races on Thursday, October 29, with the ‘Republic Cup’ stage in the Bosphorus. On Saturday, October 31, the ‘Blue Homeland Cup’ stage will take place on the Islands course. On Sunday, November 1, the last day of the competition, the event will end with the ‘Barbaros Hayreddin Pasha Cup’ stage in Kalamış Bay.
At the end of the 3 stages to be held, the team that will achieve the best rank in total will win the title of Presidential International Yacht Racing Champion and the Presidential trophy. The organization, which will be held without spectators this year due to the measures taken within the scope of the pandemic process, will meet its viewers with live broadcasts from TV and digital media.
