Doğuş Marine Services, the new brand of Doğuş Group that will operate in the field of after-sales services and spare parts in the maritime sector, has started its operations.
Doğuş Marine Services started operations at its headquarters in Göcek Marina. In addition to providing service and maintenance services for yachts, the company also offers second-hand sales, insurance and emergency assistance services.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Doğuş Marine Services General Manager Anıl Gürsoy said, “Doğuş Otomotiv has more than 25 years of experience in after-sales services. We have achieved success with our practices and services in many internationally recognized organizations in the automotive industry. Now we are integrating our corporate culture, values and discipline into a different field. We will serve the yachting industry in Turkey with our expert team and staff. We have included both valuable friends from the maritime industry and experienced, competent technicians and white-collar employees from Doğuş Otomotiv.”.
There was a need
Gürsoy said that the investment decision was primarily born out of the need to meet the needs of the sector, “There were serious deficiencies in this field. Finding a corporate interlocutor was a problem. Our aim is primarily to bring institutionalization to the sector, to create a standard in service quality and to play a leading role in the market. With a service understanding beyond their expectations, we will ensure that boat owners, regardless of whether they are private or institutional, enjoy the sea without interruption. In addition to these, we aim to expand our business volume with the representation of world brands very soon and to become a permanent player that sets the rules in this sector with high growth potential.”.
Pandemic boosted demand in the sector
Anıl Gürsoy said that habits have changed in parallel with the pandemic, especially with the importance of health being remembered again, “The yacht sector is one of the areas where this change is taking place. People started to re-evaluate their options for a more isolated vacation, a safer getaway. This has led to an increase in the size of demand in the sector. Approximately 25,000 yachts and boats are at sea in Turkey, and this number is increasing every day. Our main center is located in Göcek, the busiest point of yacht tourism. Seventy percent of the yacht tourism route takes place in this region. Approximately 11 thousand foreign-flagged yachts and boats visit our country every year, and our goal is to be able to serve these yachts as well. We will bring a breath of fresh air to the sector with our competitive price policy and technological infrastructure.’ Doğuş Marine Services performs periodic maintenance, all repairs, yacht painting, mechanical/electrical/electronic maintenance, refit, spare parts, accessory sales and second-hand boat purchase and sale operations for all motor yachts and sailboats. In addition to all these activities, it also provides 24/7 marine assistance services to resolve malfunctions and problems that may be encountered at sea.
