The Eriş Pervaneleri production facility, which manufactures products in accordance with the standards of various classification societies in Turkey, has received ClassNK certification from the Japanese classification society Nippon Kaiji Kyokai. Classification society officials inspected the Eriş Pervaneleri foundry at the Ümraniye Istanbul Metal Craftsmen (İMES) site and deemed it “capable of manufacturing in accordance with ClassNK standards.”.
On the other hand, Şener Eriş, Partner at Eriş Pervaneleri, stated that they tried to compensate for the decline in domestic business last year with foreign projects, saying: “Compared to 2012, we did not experience any loss of business last year. 2013 saw a performance similar to that of 2012. We are seeking markets in the Middle East and Far East. To this end, we are participating in trade fairs. Commercial boat manufacturing is a vibrant sector; our propellers were used in the boats recently built by Loca Engineering for the Ministry of Health. The boats achieved better-than-expected speeds, which was very gratifying for us.”
“There isn't much activity in new construction, but refit work is on the rise. In refit work, when the length, width, and draft of the boat change, an imbalance occurs between the propeller and the engine; when changes are made to the hull, the propeller also needs to be changed. Therefore, the increase in refit work is positively affecting us. To date, we have exported propellers to 24 different countries. The most recent addition to this list is Japan. Our website contributes significantly to our business volume. We also receive orders through our website. Apart from our corporate website www.pervanehesabi.com Customers also reach us through our website. When boat and engine specifications are entered on the site, we send the most suitable propeller size and price to those who request it. This website also supports us in taking orders.”
