The International Boat Show Tuzla Maritime Fair, one of Turkey's most important fairs scheduled for October 3, has updated its dates following the cancellation of the world-renowned Cannes and Monaco fairs. Postponed by one month due to intense requests from industry players, the fair will host million-dollar boats between November 7 and 15.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, events and organizations planned in many parts of the world have been postponed. Particularly in Europe, where the outbreak progressed much more rapidly and could not be controlled, the boat shows held in Cannes and Monaco, considered the world's most important boat shows, were canceled. With the cancellation of these shows, Boat Show Tuzla, which aims to meet the needs of the yachting industry at the highest level, updated its date and postponed it by one month.
OPENING ITS DOORS ON NOVEMBER 7
The yacht sector, which waits for the Boat Show Tuzla Maritime Fair every year for the introduction and sale of new boats, requested that the fair be postponed in order to fully prepare for the event, as boat owners wanted to delay the end of their late-starting vacations. As a result, the fair has been rescheduled for November 7–15. The fair will open its doors at Viaport Marina.
OVER 200 BOATS TO BE EXHIBITED UNDER HYGIENE MEASURES
The most exclusive boat designs of 2021, the final advantages of 2020, award-winning designs, and the launch boats of the industry's most important brands will meet enthusiasts at the International Boat Show Tuzla Maritime Fair. The fair will open its doors to bring together over 200 boats, ranging in price to suit every budget and in length from 5 to 40 meters, with their new owners.
Ultra-luxury mega yachts, motor yachts, catamarans, sailboats, and gulets with a total value exceeding 1 billion TL will be on display at the Boat Show Tuzla Maritime Fair, where sea enthusiasts and those who want to maintain the new lifestyle requiring social distancing and isolation that emerged with the pandemic, as well as those who cannot compromise on healthy living on board, will come together. The fair aims to generate 500 million TL in sales this year.
FOCUS ON THE PRODUCTION OF FAMILY-TYPE BOATS DURING THE PANDEMIC
Turkish shipyards, one of the world's most important yacht production centers, shifted to producing family-type boats between 16 and 25 meters in length during the pandemic due to the necessity of social distancing and isolated lifestyles.
Interest in boats that offer not only safe vacations at sea but also the opportunity to be close to nature and enjoy an isolated vacation has come not only from within Turkey but also from abroad. Turkish yacht manufacturers have begun to sign preliminary agreements for many orders from abroad.
According to a statement by the Ship, Yacht and Services Exporters Association (GYHİB), the ship, yacht and services sector, which was among the sectors with the highest export growth in the first six months of the year, continued its upward trend in June.
