PRESIDENTIAL INTERNATIONAL YACHT RACE BEGINS

Organized for the first time this year under the auspices of the Presidency by the Istanbul Offshore Yacht Racing Club, the ‘Presidential International Yacht Race’ started on October 29.

On the first day of the races, the October 29th stage started after a moment of silence in Dolmabahçe in honor of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades-in-arms. The 61 yachts participating in the race on the first day fought a breathtaking battle on the Dolmabahçe, Ortaköy, Galataport Istanbul and Anadolu Hisarı course. In the October 29th stage, the first yacht to reach the finish line was the Comet A team yacht sponsored by Arkas. The winner of the stage will be announced after the corrected time calculations.

The Presidential International Yacht Race, organized for the first time this year under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey, kicked off on October 29th, Republic Day.

Commenting on the race, Ekrem Yemlihaoğlu, President of Istanbul Offshore Yacht Racing Club, said: “Today, on a very meaningful day for our country, we have completed the first day of our races that started on our Republic Day. The race, which we organize under the auspices of our Presidency, also means a brand new international breakthrough for our national sport. Today, the number of yachts participating in all stages of the races has reached 61. On Saturday, October 31st and Sunday, November 1st, our races will witness great excitement and the team that will achieve the best overall ranking in their classes at the end of the 3 stages will be entitled to the title of Presidential International Yacht Race Champion and the Presidential Cup. We will continue our efforts to ensure that the organization, which will be followed with great interest around the world and will contribute greatly to the promotion of our country, will be held with great success for many years.’.

The races are in full swing will last

On Saturday, October 31, Adalar ‘Blue Homeland Cup’ stage will take place on the course. On the last day of the competition, 1 On Sunday, November, the ‘Barbaros Hayreddin Pasha Cup’ stage in Kalamış Bay and the event will end.

The other sponsors of the Presidential International Yacht Race are Red Bull, Magdeburger Sigorta, Helly Hansen, Coca Cola İçecek and Sport Works, with Alem FM and Lig Radyo as the other media sponsors, while Galataport Istanbul is the venue sponsor, Paraf is the platinum sponsor, BMW, the Turkish distributor of Borusan Otomotiv, is the transportation sponsor and NTV is the main media sponsor.
