Istanbul Galata University, offers a comprehensive training program for those interested in yacht design. “Introduction to Yacht Design: Luxury, Function, and Nautical Aesthetics”This program, titled "", offers an important opportunity for those aiming for a career in the sector, particularly students of architecture, interior design, industrial design, and engineering.
Expert Instructor: Prof. Dr. İnanç Işıl Yıldırım
The program features Prof. Dr., one of the academics who introduced the concept of “floating architecture” to the literature. Faith Işıl Yıldırımwill be given by. Known for his expertise in topics such as sustainability, spatial perception, and yacht interior design, Yıldırım will share his academic knowledge and industry experience with participants.
Learn the Fundamentals of the Industry, Prepare for the Future
The training, which will last a total of 20 hours, aims to provide both academic and practical knowledge through 16 hours of theoretical lessons and a 4-hour shipyard visit. Throughout the training, participants will:
✔ Gain an industry perspective by learning yacht design principles and different types of yachts.,
✔ Will have basic knowledge of technical drawings and interior ergonomics,
✔ Explore critical topics in today's yacht industry, such as sustainable material usage and energy efficiency,
✔ They will have the opportunity to observe yacht production processes firsthand during a shipyard visit.
The Content of the Training
The training will last four weeks, and each week will cover a different topic:
📖 Week 1: Introduction to yacht design, fundamental concepts, and ergonomics
📖 Week 2: Design process, technical drawings, and structural features
📖 Week 3: Material technologies, sustainability, and energy efficiency
📖 Week 4: Current yacht design trends, brand identity, and career opportunities
One of the most notable aspects of the program is that it offers the opportunity to get to know the industry up close through a real shipyard visit. Participants will be able to reinforce their theoretical knowledge by observing the production processes.
Certificate of Participation and Application Details
A certificate of participation will be issued at the end of the training, which can be viewed via e-Government. The program will be held online on Mondays and Thursdays from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
