The new darling of the Aegean: YATEK

The YATEK Project is boosting the blue economy.

The S.S. Yacht and Boat Manufacturers Industry Collective Workplace Construction Cooperative (YATEK), rising in the Çaltılıdere area of Aliağa district in Izmir, stands out as the largest and most technologically advanced yacht/boat construction and maintenance-repair center in the Aegean and Mediterranean basins. Located on a 1.44 million square meter landfill area, the project aims to make Turkey a global brand in the yacht and boat industry.

Blue economy and significant contribution to employment

With YATEK operating at full capacity, it is anticipated that 15,000 direct jobs and 25,000 indirect and induced jobs will be created. The project's contribution to the Blue Economy is expected to reach $500 million in direct economic impact and $1 billion in total economic impact.

A massive facility with a capacity of 500 yachts and boats

YATEK, with its shipyard areas of varying sizes, 210,000 square meters of dry dock and quay space, state-of-the-art equipment, and expert staff, will be able to service approximately 500 yachts and boats. Four Travel Lifts with lifting capacities of 500 and 1000 tons will support the processes of lifting yachts and boats from the sea onto land and launching them back into the sea.

Global vision and technological equipment

Within the scope of the project, new construction projects extending up to 125 meters will be implemented with the aim of establishing the Turkish yacht industry as a major player in the global market. Additionally, investments such as floating docks and lifts will increase the efficiency of docks and slipways in the short and medium term.

Getting ready to become a center of attraction

YATEK has completed its infrastructure works and planning. Thanks to collaborations with local authorities, educational institutions, and other stakeholders, the project is poised to become a hub for yachts and boats in the Mediterranean and Aegean.

YATEK, considered one of Turkey's prestigious projects, will elevate the modern service concept for yacht and boat owners to the highest level while providing a strong impetus to the Blue Economy and regional development.
