Xplorer ✕ Norse Shipyard Launches a New Era in Yachting

Monaco Yacht Show 2025, The superyacht world is once again witnessing groundbreaking deals. One of this year's most notable developments is..., Xplorer Yachts and Norse Shipyard’the world's first wind-assisted hybrid exploration yacht joining forces to bring it to life. The agreement signed between Mustafa Süngü, Chairman of the Board of Norse Shipyards, and Paul Madden, CEO of Xplorer Yachts 106-meter Project MG represents the pinnacle of eco-friendly technology in luxury exploration yachting.

VPLP Design Project MG, which bears his signature and will be the flagship of the “Wind Voyage” series, is not only impressive in size, bringing the vision of sustainable superyachts of the future to the present It also stands out with its innovative technologies.

Four OceanWings sail system powered solely by wind 12 knots, with a hybrid diesel-electric system 15 knots speedboat; integrated solar panels and hydrogen generators will enable emission-free and silent travel.

Founder of Xplorer Yachts Paul Madden, He summarizes the importance of the project they signed at the Monaco Yacht Show with the following words:
“We offer a wind propulsion system that strongly demonstrates environmental responsibility to the new generation of yacht owners. Project MG represents a greener, more economical, and forward-thinking approach to global exploration.”

8,000 nautical miles range and unlimited sail capacity Designed with this in mind, Project MG is tailored for extended family trips and global explorations. With its commercial helipad, spacious beach club, and comfortable living areas, it prioritizes not only sustainability but also luxury and functionality.

Project MG, scheduled for delivery by the end of 2028, in the superyacht industry a symbol of a new era centered on wind energy is already making history.
