The Fişekhane Sailing Cup, which is part of the Turkish Sailing Federation's 2022 activity program and hosts many corporate teams as well as individual and recreational competitors, earned the title of this year's first yacht race in Istanbul.
The first stage of the BAUISC Spring Trophy, consisting of four stages and attracting dozens of boats each year, was held. Two different races took place throughout the day along the Ataköy-Bakırköy-Zeytinburnu coastline, where a buoy course was set up according to the windward-leeward course.
The fleet of boats, consisting of vessels of different sizes and models, was divided into IRC-0-1-2-3-4, Sportsboat, and Cruiser classes, and each boat was ranked in its own class according to its rating value. At the end of the races, an awards ceremony was held at Fişekhane, where prizes were presented to the top three teams in each class, marking the first celebration event of the yacht racing season for the participating athletes.
