BMW takes its vision of electric mobility to the water

Electrification is no longer limited to automobiles. At a time when the concept of mobility is being redefined BMW, has signed a new collaboration that makes this approach visible on water. Borusan Automotive introduced to the Turkish market by BMW x SipaBoards e-SUP, the brand's Neue Klasse It stands out as a remarkable product that adapts its vision to marine life.

BMW Group Designworks and Slovenian technology company SipaBoards’The electrically-powered stand up paddleboard, developed in collaboration with the company, combines the traditional paddling experience with digital technologies. The model, which has a fully electric propulsion system, is also among the first e-SUPs that can inflate themselves.

The electric motor integrated into the hull generates up to 300 watts of power to support the user's paddling. The system provides additional propulsion, especially in wind and current conditions, allowing longer distances to be covered with less effort. The propulsion unit, specially developed for BMW, is characterized by its quiet operation and can reach a speed of approximately 7.5 km/h (4 knots).

The technological infrastructure of the product is not limited to the electric support system. Thanks to the remote control integrated into the shovel, Bluetooth connection and a special mobile application, users can plan their routes, track via GPS, view battery status and manage the system remotely. On the safety side, the automatic power cut-off system with Bluetooth connection stands out. The automatic deactivation of the motor in case the shovel falls into the water is an important feature that prevents loss of control.

The design language follows directly from BMW's next-generation product strategy. BMW Group Designworks the brand's signature paddleboard Neue Klasse approach on water.
